![]() In ETS2 you get the flat-front semi trucks, which I LOVE for the better visibility, but I think the American trucks with the longer front ends look better. One more things, the trucks themselves feel different between the two games. Oh and the roads are a lot smaller in ETS2. Some of the signs and rules of the road in ETS2 are different but fairly self explanatory. I found ATS to feel right at home, because well, I live in America. Other than that, the only thing that may sway you is traffic rules. And it is cool driving through places I've always wanted to travel in Europe. I think I've explored less than 5% of the map. That beings said, with mods and especially the "ProMods" additions to Euro Truck Simulator 2, there is SO MUCH MORE AREA TO EXPLORE in ETS2. It is really great, and I love visiting places I've been before and seeing how accurate they are. ![]() I live in the states so started with ATS. Remember with Steam's game refund guarantee, you can pick one up, play it for 2 hours, then refund it if you find you don't like it. I personally prefer the European trucks but I'll admit to a certain soft spot for those American big rigs with the enormous roaring engines. Or, you could make your decision based on the trucks available. If you prefer cruising at 90mph through the desert at night, nothing to guide you but your GPS and the world ending at the edge of your headlights, then ATS is your game. If you like lots of corners, mountains, rolling green hills and urban driving, ETS2 is your game. I'll usually spend a week or two in Europe then jump to America for a change of scenery. Some people (like me) end up owning both and jump between the two to keep things fresh. Americans tend to pick up ATS, us in Europe tend to pick up ETS2. Most people start with the one they live nearest. The decision really is one of personal preference. Both games should run exactly as well on any given system, they both use the exact same game engine and all the textures and assets are made to the same level of quality. Without DLCs, they're both about the same size but ETS2 will give you a greater variety of places to drive. With all the DLCs, ETS2 has the bigger map, but at this point both games are so large that you don't really notice the lack. There are however a ton of mods that replace these with the real world company equivalents, which I assume is what the person who recorded that video ddi.Īs for the eternal question of ATS vs ETS2. There are lookalikes, so you do get trailers and delivery places that are OBVIOUSLY Walmart, but for legal reasons have a different name and logo. To start with the easy one - Officially there are no real world company trailers in the game.
